Capital Recruit founder Sarah Rajic named Future Leader

Successful business owner and manager, Sarah Rajic has been named by the Canberra Business Chamber Board as the successful candidate for the 2017 Future Leaders Program.

The Chamber has developed the Future Leaders Program in partnership with the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD), who kindly provide the education component of the program.

An existing Chamber Board member is allocated as Board Mentor for the candidate. The mentor role aims to offer guidance and support on the Board process and decision making. By attending the Chamber Board meetings as an observer, the candidate will be able to gain practical experience and apply the theoretical skills gained from AICD.

At the end of the 12-month period it is envisaged the candidate will understand the workings of a Board and have developed skills to seek a Board Directorship or undertake further training in Board Directorship should they wish to do so.

Ms Rajic is a founder of Capital Recruit and General Manager of Staff Check.

Capital Recruit specialises in corporate recruitment including accounting, human resources, communication and marketing, sales and administration across government and the business community in the ACT. Since its inception two years, it has grown significantly and recently began managing volume recruitment processes in government.

Staff Check is a leading supplier of security vetting services, providing personnel security services to governments and business.

“We were gratified by the number of applicants we had for the Future Leaders Program this year and that there are so many young Canberrans, such as Sarah, who are interested in learning in order to give back to their community through future board participation,” Canberra Business Chamber Chair, Glenn Keys said. “I would like to thank everyone who applied and welcome Sarah to the Chamber Board.”

This is the second year the program has been run. The first inductee into the Future Leaders Program was Alicia Shepard from ONTHEGO Sport who was recently elected to the CBC Board.

“We believe the inaugural year of the Future Leaders Program was very successful and look forward to working with Sarah,” Mr Keys said. “Our goal is to create a whole new generation of accomplished board directors.”
