MEDIA ALERT
Diplomatic Business Connections Gala Dinner
Canberra is home to nearly 80 embassies and high commissions and this Thursday diplomats from all around the world will come together with the ACT’s business sector to explore opportunities for stronger trade and business connections.
Canberra Business Chamber held the highly successful inaugural Diplomatic Business Connections Gala Dinner last year, and it is now a must attend event on the ACT trade and business calendar.
“Canberra Region businesses are very successfully exporting goods and services around the world,” Canberra Business Chamber CEO, Robyn Hendry said. “We hold Trade Missions and companies travel to secure new markets, but we have this amazing resource right here on our doorstep.
“This event aims to foster relationships between businesses and our diplomatic community to help them make connections that could be of assistance in developing new trade and business opportunities.
“We also want to welcome diplomatic staff more fully into our community. We hope networks are formed, not only professionally, but socially so embassy staff can feel more engaged and included during their time in Australia.”
At last year’s event, diplomatic guests represented over 25 countries including: United Arab Emirates, Philippines, China, Brazil, Britain, Canada, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico and Peoples Republic of Korea.
This year’s Gala Dinner is presented in partnership with Hyatt Hotel Canberra and the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
