By applying for membership of Canberra Business Chamber, you acknowledge that you have read and agreed to the terms and conditions of membership.

Membership Services and Benefits

Membership services and benefits will be supplied by Canberra Business Chamber, one of its related companies or in association with pre-selected companies and service providers.

Prices, benefits and services are subject to change at any time as approved by the CBC board in accordance with our Constitution.

Annual subscriptions

Membership is provided on an annual subscription basis for all membership categories.

Annual subscription members will receive a renewal notice approximately four (4) weeks prior to their renewal date and can elect to renew and continue with their annual subscription or move to a monthly subscription plan.

In accordance with our Constitution section 5.5, annual subscriptions are non-refundable.

We may increase our annual and monthly subscription fees to reflect increases in the costs of our services and programs. Any such increase will be communicated to all members at least four (4) weeks prior to the date it takes effect.

Canberra Business Chamber reserves the right to cancel any membership where the membership fee is in arrears for three (3) months or more.

In this circumstance, Canberra Business Chamber reserves the right to recover the monetary benefit of any membership discount(s) received by the member whilst the member was in arrears.

Canberra Business Chamber reserves the right to withdraw any or all benefits and services including any membership discounts if payment is not received within 30 days of the annual renewal date.

Monthly subscriptions

Canberra Business Chamber offers monthly membership payment plans via direct debit or credit card.

If you elect to pay monthly, the number of payments is 12 payments per annum.

The day on which you commence a subscription plan will be your monthly renewal date.

If you elect to pay your membership via a monthly direct debit subscription, your membership will be renewed automatically and will continue until you advise us in writing that you wish to cancel membership.

We may increase our annual and monthly subscription fees to reflect increases in the costs of our services and programs. Any such increase will be communicated to all members at least four (4) weeks prior to the date it takes effect.

You may cancel your membership subscription at any time by providing at least 30 days written notice to CBC via email.

Unpaid monthly subscriptions resulting from drawings not honoured by your financial institution do not constitute advice to us that you wish to cancel your subscription.

Unpaid monthly subscriptions resulting from drawings not honoured by your financial institution remain owing to Canberra Business Chamber.

If drawings are not honoured by your financial institution Canberra Business Chamber reserves the right to suspend or cancel any or all benefits and services, including any membership discounts, if payment is not received within 30 days of the renewal date.

We reserve the right to suspend or cancel membership and/or cancel the Direct Debit arrangement if three (3) drawings are returned unpaid by your nominated financial institute. We will arrange with you an alternative payment method and an agreement to recover the amounts owing.

We reserve the right to cancel a monthly subscription if we believe that a business is deliberately joining, resigning and renewing via monthly subscriptions to selectively access membership benefits and services rather than to in good faith remain a Chamber member on an ongoing basis.

Online Payment gateways

Canberra Business Chamber contracts Ezypay to provide our secure payment gateway for monthly subscription payments. Ezypay’s platform is PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard) accredited and is compliant with the relevant Australian and local banking rules and regulations.

When you commence a subscription plan, you create a new account with Ezypay. Ezypay will provide you with a copy of their Terms and Conditions of use, including their privacy policies.

Annual Payments membership payments are managed through the eWay payment gateway.  eWay is a Level 1 PCI DSS compliant service provider is compliant with the relevant Australian and local banking rules and regulations.

Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. Personal information which Canberra Business Chamber or one of its related companies collects is used for the purpose of providing you with information about the range of membership services and benefits available.

We may also use your personal information to keep you informed of events which may be of interest to you and to provide you with promotional and marketing material about our products and services.

To provide the range of membership services and benefits available to you, Canberra Business Chamber provides your membership details and information to its related companies and pre- selected service providers.

By accepting membership of Canberra Business Chamber, you consent to this sharing of information.

The Canberra Business Chamber complies with all relevant Commonwealth and State legislation governing its operations.
