Canberra Metro named as preferred contractor

On 1 February 2016, the ACT Government announced Canberra Metro would deliver the first stage of Canberra’s light rail network. The winning consortium comprises of Pacific Partnerships, CPB Contractors, John Holland, Mitsubishi Corporation, Aberdeen Infrastructure Investments, Deutsche Bahn International and CAF. Between them they will deliver on 12 km of light rail track, 13 stops, 14 light rail vehicles, a depot and 20 years of operation and maintenance.

Canberra Business Chamber welcomed the appointment of Canberra Metro as it means the Capital Metro project is now officially underway and will bring jobs and economic benefits to the city.
