Jo Metcalf

Jo Metcalfe is the Global Strategy Lead for GHD, a professional services firm and Managing Director of the charity The GHD Foundation. She has strong relationships with government and twenty years of consulting, professional services management and industry peak body employment history. Jo makes significant contributions to the organisations for which she plays committee, council and board roles, a commitment that she is eager to continue with Canberra Business Chamber. She has been an active Board member of the Chamber for over two years, a member of the Property Council of Australia since 2004, was a Director of Consult Australia, the peak body for design companies in the built environment. Jo’s past roles include State Manager of the Australian Institute of Architects ACT and Managing Principal of peckvonhartel Architects.

Sarah Rajic

Sarah Rajic is the co-founder and Director of Capital Recruit and General Manager of Staff Check. Commencing her recruitment career in 2000 in accounting recruitment in Canberra, Sarah progressed to managing recruitment branches across Canberra and Sydney.
In August 2014, Sarah founded Capital Recruit, which specialises in corporate recruitment across government and business. Capital Recruit also manages volume recruitment processes in government of 15-450 positions across Australia.

Sarah was appointed General Manager to Staff Check to assist with client management, strategy and leadership. Staff Check is a leading supplier of security vetting services, providing personnel security services.

She has been a non-executive Director for the Canberra Business Chamber since 2018 and joined the Molonglo Financial Services Group/Bendigo Community Banking board in 2019.
Sarah attended the Institute of Company Directors Course, attained a Diploma in business and is accredited with the Recruitment and Consulting Services Association (RCSA). She regularly presents for CPA Australia on recruitment best practice, industry updates, leadership, and career development.

John-Paul Romano

My experience scopes of the community, private and government sectors; I have worked in

hospitality, the legal industry, the community sector, emergency services, and in parliament. I have recently established my own bricks and mortar business, as my first hospitality venture in Manuka, ‘Italian Brothers’.

I am a Social and Political Commentator published in ‘The Canberra Times’, ‘the RiotACT’, ‘CityNews’ and have a segment on 2CC 1206AM.

I have a track record of significant victories on behalf of local businesses through extensive media campaigns and lobbying. I am also in a prime position to represent the views of young business owners, small business, and entrepreneurs, while maintaining strong connections throughout the entire Canberra business community.

My family has been in business in Canberra for almost 55 years; I understand the pressures and the challenges of business, and I know how to tackle them head-on.

My varied skills and work in the media and as an advocate will assist me to campaign for the rights and needs of all local businesses, for the good of our City.

I am humbled to be a current member of the Chamber Board amid a year of varied circumstances for the business community, I hope my contribution has been with genuine enthusiasm and substance.

I am honoured to hold the position of General Manager, Canberra FM Radio – operator of HIT104.7 and MIX106.3. As a commercial broadcaster, my responsibility to our team and organisation covers strategic, operational and financial leadership ensuring profitability via a focus on audience, business and government engagement and regulatory compliance, all underpinned with community/charitable involvement as a responsible corporate citizen of the Territory.

Growing up in Canberra, educated at St. Edmund’s College and the University of Canberra, I aim to be a vocal and passionate advocate for our city, it’s skilled people and dynamic business sector. I’ve worked in Canberra for nearly 18 years interspersed with a further near-decade in Asia & The Middle East.

A key pillar of my professional experience is in being a part of a diverse team, working with a wide range of Canberra business representatives and industries along with the ACT Government in developing growth strategies, marketing and communication campaigns covering brand establishment, management, growth and tactical applications. I have been fortunate to establish a strong network locally and elsewhere – which I’m extremely appreciative of.

I’m commissioned with our stations’ engagement with the ACT Government and the Canberra Business Chamber.

As a father and husband, I recognise that family is paramount. Together with my wife and two daughters, we enjoy travel, sport, music and learning – from various quarters and many influences.

Again for 2021, I sincerely submit my nomination, with ideas to enhance what the Chamber does and to create new opportunities for members. I offer-up my time and perspectives during an exciting phase for the Chamber and the city’s business sector.

Richard Snow

Richard has an extensive background in commercial, retail and residential property investment and development. After completing a BA Commerce from the University of Sydney in 2002 he began his career in 2003 working for global listed property group Brookfield Multiplex.

Since joining Capital Airport Group in 2009, Richard has had overall responsibility for the development of the non-aviation property business at Canberra Airport, as well as off-airport development. This includes the mixed use office, retail and hotel precinct development known ‘Constitution Place’ in the city centre.
